4K Solutions teamed with Tampa Microwave to support our Executive Communications team’s “enhanced” communications packages with four Tampa Microwave .95cm Ku‐band Terminals (TM‐Ku850MP‐95).
Summary: The Executive Communicators required terminals that can be transported, set-up and operated by one person, and that also featured auto-assist pointing for rapid deployment and satellite acquisition.
4K selected the Tampa Microwave ManPack terminals as they are ruggedized and operate without the need for cooling fans.
Tampa Microwave’s family of ManPack terminals were specifically designed for the needs of a executive communicator, dismounted soldier or first responder.
They are designed to be jumped or carried and then operate in inhospitable territory. The ManPack terminal offers several operational and logistical advantages over its competition. The compact design and intelligent packaging concept facilitate one-man setup and operation. The terminal packs up in a backpack which can be placed in the airline overhead compartment. The terminals also include a hard transit case for the backpack so the system can be checked as baggage(<68lbs / 31kg IATA) or shipped
